The via cordata differs from the via ferrata by the absence of a cable. Rope anchoring is therefore mandatory for safety, and steps and pig's tails help with progression.

Giro et cima del Ruitor 3486 m. Starting from the green alpine pastures of Sassière above the village of Saint Foy in the Tarentaise valley, we will cross into Italy to discover the gigantic glaciers on the Italian side of this mythical peak. After ascending it, we will circumnavigate it before returning to the Sassière plateau.

The name of Mount Rose does not indicate the color that this mountain takes on at sunset but comes from the Valdostan dialect "rouesa" which means glacier. Mount Rose is more of a massif than a distinct peak like Mont Blanc. It has ten peaks, the lowest of which is Pointe Giordani, which peaks at 4046 m. The highest, Pointe Dufour, reaches 4634 m.
